So I go to pick my jeep back up and what do you know, no sound! But all the lights on my dashboard are lit up! Then I found out that
Since they took my jeep apart twice after they were supposed to fix it the first time, my warranty wouldn't pay for labor. So they were trying to stick me with a $400 bill for their mistake! I told them that I shouldn't have to pay since they weren't adjusting it right. So he told me just to pay 100$ and we'd call it even. Then Lynn, his wife tells me to come back in and they will replace the sensor in my jeep because that's why the lights are on... now keep in mind, when I dropped it off both times, the lights were never on.
I used to love Chambers. Would always take my car there when something needed worked on. Well after my latest experience, I will never go there again. My Jeep was making this awful noise on the rear end. Found out it was the rear ring and pinion. Was told this was going to have to be replaced. I was also dealing with my warranty because I still had a warranty on the jeep. They replaced the part and when I got my jeep back it was still making that awful sound, didn't even get out of the drive way before I turned around and went right back. They told me to drive it for at least a week and if the sound wasn't gone to bring it back. At this point I've only had to pay 100 for the deductible because my warranty picked up the other 600$ for the bill. Keep in mind, the parts only cost around 100$, the rest was labor and misc charges.
Too bad you can't give zero stars.
I was only there to help transport an ATV for a family member. My assumption is that they must be OK since I have to keep going back and forth transporting the thing to/from them.
my wife's car was vandalized on christmas eve. when she returned to the place where her car was at it was gone. after making several calls she found out it was towed (obviously without any notice, or agreement from us) to this garage. the sun roof and small back glass were broken out, and chamber's auto said they could fix it, and had a great glass person. they originally told us that the cost would be $250. then it couldn't be done for another week. then it would be at least $500. then another week. we finally got the car back yesterday with a steep cost of almost $800 (that included a $200 tow bill!!). driving home she realized it wasn't sounding right, so we took it to our local garage that we trust and found out that they had ripped the muffler off when towing it, which cost us an additional $70 to have welded back on. then today i was cleaning it out (still a ton of glass, as well as muddy paw prints from the owner's dog all over) and noticed how badly they had scraped up the bumper, and pulled golf ball sized asphalt from between the bumper and radiator. i had to call and let them know how unhappy with the situation was. she acted like she had no idea who would have had an animal in there, but seemed to understand when i told her who it was. we saw him get out of the car with the dog when we pulled in. he claimed he was checking the windows to make sure there were no leaks. but she claimed she would "let him know" still waiting to hear back from them. if i could rate lower i would've.
Rip off artists , they wanted to charge me 280 for a sway bar replacement , went to leatherwood and got it for 75 , don't...go...here!!!!
So after a week I took my jeep back up there, still making the same awful sound. They tore it back apart and said my whole rear end needed to be replaced... and it was going to cost around 1000$! So they had the warranty people come and inspect it again, and they said the part wasn't adjusted right and needed to be adjusted. So Chambers adjusted it, put it back together, and I went to pick it up a few days later. Low and behold, its still making the sound! Once again I don't even get out of the drive way and take it back to them. Grudgingly they keep the jeep and take it apart again. The only thing Chambers kept trying to tell us was that we had to have a new rear end, and since the warranty wouldn't replace it, we would have to pay for it. I ask the warranty to inspect it again since the mechanic is insisting that we need a new rear end.
So they have the inspector of my warranty come back out and they told me the same thing, there is nothing wrong with it, they just aren't adjusting it right. At this point I'm fed up and decide to take my jeep elsewhere. So Chambers puts it back together.
And no, I never went back to have the sensor replaced. After all the run around and then seeing all the grease all over my leather seats and interior, I was afraid they would devalue my jeep even more. Never again will I go there.
Super people to work with! Owners are friendly and helpful. Family ran business.
